Abstract

Job satisfaction not only provides individual benefits for employees, but also had a positive impact on organizational well-being and performance. Hygiene factor was a very important concept in motivation theory.
This research aims to determine the effect of Hygiene Factor on employee job satisfaction at Asia Plaza Tasikmalaya. This research uses descriptive and correlational research methods with survey methods. The population in this research was Asia Plaza Tasikmalaya Fashion Department employees, totaling 96 people. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The analysis techniques used in this research were descriptive analysis, correlation coefficient analysis, coefficient of determination analysis, Linear Regression Analysis, and Hypothesis Testing.
The results obtained from this research were that the Hygiene Factor at Asia Plaza had an average score of 418,6 and was in the Very Good category. Job Satisfaction had an average score of 423,8 and was in the Very Good category. The contribution of the Hygiene Factor variable to employee job satisfaction was 76%, while the remaining 24% is influenced by other variables not studied. The regression equation obtained was Y = 7,571 + 0,839X, which means the relationship between X and Y was positive. A constant value of 7,571 can be interpreted as meaning that if the Hygiene Factor variable had a value of 0, then the job satisfaction variable had a positive value (7,571). The regression coefficient of 0,839X states that for every increase in the Hygiene Factor variable by 1 unit, the job satisfaction variable will increase by 0.839. In hypothesis testing, it was known that the calculated t value > t table (17,236 > 1,661) at a significance of 0,000 < 0,05. So it can be concluded that the Hygiene Factor variable had a significant effect on job satisfaction.
