Abstract

Inventory is a crucial component in a company's operations that requires effective management to ensure product availability. PT XYZ, a local retailer specializing in garment manufacturing, experienced stockout issues in finished products, particularly in the t-shirt category. Over a four-month period, the stockout rate reached 8.12% of total orders, leading to a decline in service quality and loss of potential sales. This study aims to determine the optimal safety stock level and reorder point to minimize the risk of stockouts. The ABC classification method was used to group items based on their sales contribution. The classification results showed seven items in class A (80%), three items in class B (15%), and one item in class C (5%). The safety stock calculation for class A yielded the highest value of six units for Crea*es L. Meanwhile, the highest reorder point value was 48 units for the same item. These findings are expected to be the basis for decision-making in managing finished product inventory more precisely and efficiently.
