Plagiarism Policy

JUSTINFO (Jurnal Sistem Informasi dan Teknologi Informasi) is fully committed to upholding academic integrity and publication ethics. We have a zero-tolerance policy regarding any form of plagiarism, data falsification, and fabrication in all submitted manuscripts.

The Editorial Board of JUSTINFO ensures that all published articles are original works, have not been previously published, and are not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.

To maintain the quality and originality of our publications, JUSTINFO implements a strict manuscript screening policy with the following conditions:

1. Similarity Check

Every submitted manuscript will undergo a plagiarism screening process during the initial stage using similarity detection software (such as Turnitin or iThenticate).

  • Maximum Similarity Index: 20%

  • This similarity index excludes the Bibliography/References section.

  • If a manuscript exceeds the 20% similarity threshold, it will be immediately returned to the author for revision before it can proceed to the peer-review stage, or rejected, depending on the extent and type of plagiarism found.

2. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Writing Policy

JUSTINFO acknowledges the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, such as ChatGPT and other Large Language Models (LLMs), in assisting researchers. However, authors hold full responsibility for the entire content of the manuscript, as AI cannot be held accountable for the accuracy and ethical integrity of the generated text.

  • Maximum AI Writing Detection: 20%

  • We utilize integrated AI content detection software during the initial screening process.

  • AI tools may only be used to improve grammar, spelling, or to refine sentence structure. AI must not be used to generate research substance, methodology, data analysis, or to draw conclusions.

  • Manuscripts detected with AI-generated text exceeding the 20% limit will be returned to the authors for manual rewriting or rejected outright at the editor's discretion.

3. Sanctions for Plagiarism Violations

If severe plagiarism is discovered (e.g., copying an entire work without attribution or strong indications of ghostwriting) after an article has been published, the Editorial Board reserves the right to take the following actions:

  1. Formally retract the article (Retraction).

  2. Publish a retraction notice in the subsequent issue of the journal.

  3. Blacklist the author(s) from publishing in JUSTINFO in the future.

By submitting a manuscript to JUSTINFO, authors are deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to this plagiarism policy in its entirety.
