Peer Review Process

JUSTINFO (Jurnal Sistem Informasi dan Teknologi Informasi) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication quality through a rigorous peer-review process. All research articles submitted to this journal undergo a strict evaluation to ensure academic integrity, originality, and scientific significance.

1. Initial Screening (Desk Review)

Upon submission, the Editorial Board will conduct an initial screening. This stage evaluates:

  • Aims and Scope: Whether the manuscript fits within the journal's focus and scope.

  • Formatting: Compliance with the journal's Author Guidelines and standard template.

  • Originality Check: Manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism and AI-generated content. As per our policy, manuscripts exceeding a 20% similarity index or 20% AI writing detection will be returned for revision or rejected outright.

Manuscripts that do not meet these initial criteria will be rejected directly by the Editor-in-Chief (Desk Rejection) without being sent for peer review.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

JUSTINFO employs a Double-Blind Peer Review process. This means that both the reviewer's and author's identities are concealed from each other throughout the review process. This ensures that the evaluation is objective and free from bias.

3. Reviewer Assignment

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers who specialize in the relevant field of Information Systems and Information Technology. The reviewers are selected based on their expertise, academic track record, and absence of conflicts of interest.

Reviewers will evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and novelty of the research.

  • Methodological soundness and data accuracy.

  • Clarity, coherence, and logical flow of the argument.

  • Relevance and currency of the references used.

4. Editorial Decision

Based on the feedback and recommendations from the reviewers, the Editor-in-Chief or the handling Editor will make the final decision. The possible decisions are:

  • Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted as is.

  • Revisions Required: The manuscript requires minor revisions before it can be accepted.

  • Resubmit for Review: The manuscript requires major revisions and will undergo another round of peer review after the author revises it.

  • Decline Submission: The manuscript is rejected because it does not meet the journal's standards of quality or scientific merit.

The final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript rests entirely with the Editor-in-Chief, based on the reviewers' recommendations and the editorial board's consensus.
