Dry port is one of the important transportation nodes and can also be an extention of the sea - port. Dry port is being one of transportation facilties that paid Government special attention, state in The Blueprint of National Logistics System. However, the existing dry port in Indonesia are less productive or failed. For example, in Cikarang Dry Port which is the most developed dry port compared to another dry port, only contributed 18% of Tanjung Priok Port throughput until 2017. This condition is further away from the initial target which can contribute 62% from the Tanjung Priok Port throughput.
Although dry port is needful to be build and developed, poor condition of dry port leads to the need of identifying the success factors of determining location of dry port. By using analysis and synthesis approach in conducting literature review, four types of criteria were obtained in the selection dry port location i.e. the government, dry port service providers, dry port service users, and the community. This research is subject to building conceptual model and assessment instrument that can be used by the stakeholders.
