Wayside equipment plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and
reliability of elevated railway operations. In Jakarta’s elevated
railway system, Wayside devices such as Point Machines, signals,
and Axle Counters operate continuously under challenging
environmental conditions, including high humidity, rainfall, and
pollution. These conditions increase the risk of equipment
degradation and operational disturbances. This study aims to
analyze maintenance strategies for Wayside equipment using the
Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) method. The research
focuses on three critical Wayside components: Point Machines,
signaling systems, and Axle Counters, based on maintenance and
disturbance data from September to November 2025. The RCM
approach is applied through functional analysis, identification of
functional failures, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
(FMEA) to determine appropriate maintenance strategies. The
results show that most disturbances are caused by minor
mechanical issues, contamination, and electrical connection
problems. The application of RCM helps classify maintenance
actions into preventive, condition-based, and corrective
maintenance, enabling more effective and structured maintenance
planning.
