The need for effective metal cleaning methods is increasing, especially for small metal objects such as jewelry and coins. Manual methods are often less than optimal because they cannot reach narrow gaps and require more time. One alternative that is known to be effective is an ultrasonic cleaner, which utilizes high-frequency waves to produce cavitation so that dirt can be completely removed. This study aims to design, realize, and test the performance of an ultrasonic cleaner with a power of 50 W and a frequency of 40 kHz as an alternative method for small-scale metal cleaning. The system uses a piezoelectric transducer, an ultrasonic driver, and a stainless steel container as the cleaning medium. The test object is a Rp 500 coin with varying amounts of liquid soap solution and cleaning durations of 3 and 5 minutes. The research method uses a descriptive quantitative approach, with a visual cleanliness assessment based on a scale of 0–5 analyzed as a percentage. The measurement results using a CMAS 100-SL show transducer vibrations of 2.5–9.6 mm/s and the base of the container 1.0–10.3 mm/s. The aluminum foil test confirmed the presence of cavitation, while the effectiveness test showed an increase in cleanliness with increasing solution amount and cleaning duration, with the best results with 5 minutes of liquid soap. Thus, the 50 W 40 kHz ultrasonic cleaner proved effective and has the potential for further development as a practical and economical solution.
